Nice post Brock. I enjoyed reading about it. In my moral ethics class in order to dissect an issue further like the one you are describing, we would always try and find a similar moral agument that was concrete to compare it to.

I suppose an example of that would be; "Do you think marriage between a human and animal is ok?" Not relating anything to your post here, just trying to raise another question that is a bit more cut and dry to compare it to.

Yes that is exactly it, I really think it is just wave cancellation. Standard physics class in High School. When I found this out I was amazed how simple it was.

The Hi-Pass filter was my little addition though. I really didn't like the way it sounded, you can't tell from youtube, but it was ass compared to the original.

Nice work Brock. I was thinking...remove it alltogether by inverting it...what?! But this is a really clever way of make the main vocalist sound really really quiet compared to everything else, right?

Yes I know, I have been looking at getting sh404 SEF to work with mojo blog. The default 'pretty url' built into joomla is pretty bad. Just trust me you don't want to see them with no SEF at all.

I will look at the CSS I guess I broke it some place.

Glad you liked it. The more people prepared the better. How did you ever find this article so low on my blog? You must really be bored in Redmond.

Brock, this is a great article. I'll bookmark it for reference, since even though I'm sure you already told me this stuff at least twice, I've already forgotten most of it.

But seriously, you need to get some user-friendly URLs in your blogging engine. I start seeing things like "/component/option,blah,blah,blah", I think: wouldn't it be so much easier to just have "index.php/retirement-planning-for-new-graduates"? There's got to be some way to do this with the system you use.

Also, whenever I mouse over this comment box I'm typing in, it turns completely white and I can't see the text because the text font is white.

Okay, enough bitching about your website.

I went there for a week. Its where Chelsea is interning for the summer.
I did meet Stan, and talked with him a few times. Have you communicated with him before?

Hmm the difference in number might have to do with a large addition they are doing. The cash inflows might be quite differnt because they have had a large push to pay for it. What is being built right now is fully paid for and they plan to add another half to it.

In any case I was impressed how good a job they did. They admitted though that what they do has little to do with helping the population. The education does more for the entire population than any rescue rehab, but they want to do rehab so they do it by their own free will.

Sounds like you had a great time! I actually heard about the MMC a few years ago via <a href="http://www.run100s.com/TMMC/index.htm" rel="nofollow">Stan Jensen's ultrarunning site</a>.

Based on <a>Charity Navigator's rating of the MMC</a> they still have considerable room for improvement.

Also, the MMC's pie graph on their financial page you linked to appears to be inaccurate - for example over 20% of their expenditures went towards fundraising, not 8% as the graph depicts.

Not to be all nit-picky in your blog, but I'm a huge believer in non-profit efficiency. A good organization should have at least 75% of contributions go towards their mission, but the MMC is in the 65-70% range. It does appear that they are improving, though.

Despite the above, they seem to be a very well-run outfit. What caused you to go help them out?

I should point out. Most of the thought about how prices absorb deductions and the like came from the most recent Econ Talk also.
